Joseph Shamli

He graduated National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts "Krastio Sarafov" in 1994 in the class of Prof. Zdravko Mitkov. Among his first roles on the professional stage are: Woitzek in the eponymous play by Georg Bühner in the Drama Theatre-Sliven and Lucipher in "Cain" by George Byron in Drama Theatre-Smolyan, Billy Bibit in  “One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest” at Drama Theatre-Pazardjik. He participates in Theater "Sfumato" theatrical projects “The Black Fleece” and “The dream of Odysseus”. In 2003 he specialized in directing at New Bulgarian University in the class of Prof. Leon Daniel.

Since 2003 he has been in the troupe of the "Ivan Vazov" National Theatre, where his most important roles are: File in "The Rainmaker" by R. Nash, Sebastian in the "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare, the Man in the "Lame or Wolf virgin" by Konstantin Iliev, Eddie in "Fool for Love" by Sam Sheppard, Hofzer in "The Visit of the Old Lady" by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Blasius in "Don’t Play with Love" by Alfred de Musset, Roman in "Fleeing Strangers" by Alexey Kazantsev, Cornwall in "King Lear" by William Shakespeare, Porphyuriy Petrovich in "Crime and Punishment " by F. Dostoyevsky, The Judge in “Volpone” by Ben Johnson,  Lyapkin Triapkin  in "The Government Inspector" by N. Gogol, Yuvashov in "Moth"  by Piotr Gladilin, Tzera in “No Man's Land” after Danis Tanovich, Igoto in “The Attempt to Fly” by Yordan Radichkov, Herei in “Caligula” by Albert Camus, Tom Wilson in “The Ride down Mt. Morgan” by Arthur Miller, F. M. in the “The Observers” by Konstantin Iliev, Goldberg in "Teremin" by Peter Zelenka.

Award ASKEER`1995 for the role of Billy Bibit in "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" and ASKEER`2016 for a supporting male role in "No Man's Land" after Danis Tanovich.
