Stoyan Alexiev

He graduated National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastio Sarafov” in 1975 in the class of prof. Elka Mihaylova. He has performed in the Drama Theaters in Shumen, Varna and Plovdiv. Between the years 1997 and 2000 he is the Head of Drama Theater “Stoyan Bachvarov” in Varna City. In 1988 he is invited to join the troupe of “Ivan Vazov” National Theater and some of his notable roles include:  Peer Gynt in the eponymous play by Henrik Ibsen, Father Matej Mitkaloto in “The Secret Supper of Dyacon Levski” by Stefan Tsanev, Galileo in “Life of Galileo” by Bertolt Brecht, the Cardinal in “Lorenzaccio” by Alfred de Musset, Robespierre in "Danton’s Death" by Georg Buchner and Heiner Mueller, Pavel in "Vassa Zheleznova-1910" by Maxim Gorky, Dr. Dorn in "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov, Richard in "The Price" by Аrthur Miller, the Man in the monodrama “The Mushroom” by Tsvetan Marangozov, the Baron in "The Lower Depths" by Maxim Gorky, Mick Dowd in “A Skull in Connemara” by Martin McDonagh, Creon in "Oedipus The King" by Sophocles, Macbeth in "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare, Condor in "Macbett" by Eugene Ionesco, Mr. Jack Pinchwife in "The Country Wife" by William Wycherley, Alex in “The Warmth in November” by Yana Dobreva, Dennis in "The Monogamist" by Christopher Kyle, Socrates in "Socrates’ Last Night" by Stefan Tsanev, the Earl of Caversham in "An Ideal Husband" by Oscar Wilde, Shabelski in "Ivanov" by Anton Chekhov, Lord Eduard in "Thieves Carnaval" by Jean Anouilh, Harding in „One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest“ by Ken Кesey, Carl Salter in „As You Desire Me” by Luigi Pirandello, Wane in "Nice Fish" by Mark Rylance and Louis Jenkins.

Award ASKEER`2004 for leading male role as Alex in “The Warmth in November” by Yana Dobreva.

He has played in many films and television programs like the classical feature movies “Yesterday” and “Time of Parting” and the TV-series “Stolen Life”. He has also directed several plays himself.
